Charles Gulley

Associate

Charles Gulley is a solutions-oriented professional. His practice focuses on business litigation, corporate and real estate transactions, and alternative dispute resolution.

Charles also has experience assisting a variety of clients with corporate and administrative policy development, board relations, drafting employment and nondisclosure agreements, on-site training, and collective bargaining. Charles has also advised clients regarding record retention policies, as well as general records management practices.

Prior to joining WMA, Charles served as Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable John A. Houston, United States District Judge for the Southern District of California. In chambers, Charles gained valuable experience helping the Court resolve, among other disputes, complex class actions, applications for injunctive relief, private securities disputes, and financial service and lending claims.

Charles is an active participant in San Diego’s legal community, and a passionate believer in public service. He has served on the Board of Directors of San Diego’s Earl B. Gilliam Bar Association, currently sits on the Board of a local charter school, is an active member of the Honorable Clifford J. Wallace Inn of Court, and is a contributing member of the San Diego ESI Forum.

Before law school, Charles built a successful compliance career in Contract Administration, where he drafted, tracked, and modified high-value government and private contracts, developed and implemented policy, and participated in contract and labor negotiations.

Charles earned his Juris Doctorate from William & Mary Law School in 2016, where he served as Competition Staff for the Law School’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Team, Transactional Law Team, and served as Transactional Practice Teaching Assistant to Adjunct Professor Elliot P. Park. Charles holds the highest professional certification in Government Contracts Management (Certified Professional Contract Manager) from the National Contract Management Association, and he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Chapman University in 2011.
